TahoePix- Tahoe Living History

We’ve come across a number of these old cabins dotting the backcountry.  A standing testament to Tahoe History.  This is reason alone to get off the beaten path and explore the backcountry roads and trails (even those that seem to lead nowhere).

This old West Shore cabin is pretty sturdy.  It even survived a large tree falling on it.

    • Wow! An official brownie point of sorts. Thank you! I’m most gratified that you are enjoying the blog. Lots of work, and only about 2 more years of writing to get the content to where we envision. I’ll start thinking about my own nominations, too. Found a few good ones from your list!

  3. Thanks- We’ve come across several of these old cabins on seldom used dirt roads and trails. We’ve come across several more that are just heaps of wood and corrugated roofing. We’ve also come across miles of stone fencing over a century old, and the remains of old barbed wire fences stretching for what seems like miles in the middle of nowhere.

I love the forgotten sense of history.
